The much-anticipated release of hide’s first official book, Pinky Promise on 2/14!
The title, “Pinky Promise,” embraces the idea of a bond between hide, who treasured the smiling faces of his fans who loved to see hide living it up on stage. So, right here, we renew our promise as fans with a pinky promise that says, “hide, as much as we have been, we’ll keep smiling and make the most of every day!”
At long last, the gears of hide’s nation-wide HAPPY&POSITIVE master plan are set in motion!
In commemorating the release of Pinky Promise, the LEMONed Harajuku store launched a special event on 2/11, for the very first time as an outdoors event since the closing of the hide Museum! Held in a limited-time LEMONed Shop in Shinjuku’s Marui One department store, this exhibition offered a special pre-sale for Pinky Promise.
On the morning of the event, with the promise of a special Pinky Promise poster to be distributed to the first 100 fans to purchase the book, a horde of fans gathered outside of Shinjuku Marui One, eagerly awaiting the opening. Among the masses were romantic couples and parents with children, alike, as well as those who said they’d become fans upon hide’s untimely death – reaffirming the lasting influence of this eternal guitar hero, who garners such respect still now.
In the immediate vicinity of the 8th floor escalator, several of hide model guitars were proud displayed while the 1st floor exhibited omamori (lucky charms), hand towels, yukata, and more, from a new collaboration brand between the well-established kimono maker Odasho and hide, titled 【hide x odasho HI-HO!】
Even more prominent were the multitudes of hide collaborations among Marui One’s many brands, with traditional Japanese, punk, gothic, and a variety of other styles and items in full colors of hide, reflecting the artist’s own character, color, and style.

This part features photos of all 43 of hide’s guitars, with his own model guitars at the forefront, including guitars he himself used and the guitars his company oversees production of, each with a simple explanation of the particular guitar. ★Unpublished complete tour diary
A diary complied by the recording director of hide’s first solo tour which includes many illustrations drawn by hide’s own hand. At the time of its initial release, this was a special item distributed only by lottery to the fans who purchased both VHS of “FILM THE PSYCHOMMUNITY REEL 1″ and “FILM THE PSYCHOMMUNITY REEL 2″ and are, thus, impossible to obtain now.
★Staff/family interviews
Interviews with staff closely affiliated with hide, beginning with I.N.A., who had worked together with hide as a musical producer. As defined by each of their respective positions, these members of hide’s entourage carve out an image of hide’s professional spirit and the attitude he had towards his music. With this release come exclusive dialogues with never-before-interviewed people! What’s more, after 13 long years, hide’s own mother grants an interview, telling the story of hide, as a son and as an artist, from her unique perspective as a mother.
